Filmoption Boards Trilight Entertainment’s Horror Film “The Wrath”

November 21, 2024 – Regina, Saskatchewan – Production has begun on Trilight and Filmoption’s new horror movie The Wrath. The film marks the directorial debut for Trilight’s Shayne Putzlocher. The Wrath shoots in Regina, SK, Canada, as well as various locations around Thailand.

The film stars an ensemble of fresh faces, which includes Tatum Jennings, Mitchell Lane, Christopher David Davis, Jordan Wendzina, and Sukanlaya Phinongram and is about a newly married couple, Devyn and Ben, who travel to the island of Koh Phangan, to begin filming a documentary about the folk-legend of Mae Nak. Set in the paradoxical world of beautiful Thailand with the looming shadows of a malignant spirit, the couple are pulled into a sinister plot as the story they’ve come to feature becomes their horrific reality.

Written by Nicole Field, the film is directed by Shayne Putzlocher and produced by Putzlocher and Jessica Watch of Trilight Entertainment. Paul Cadieux and Isabelle Legault from Montreal’s Filmoption will also produce and take Canadian rights to the film. Somboon Wattanatakulchat co-produces from Siren Film Bangkok. Executive Producers are Andrea Hoffman, Daniel Ford Beavis, Kimberley Cardina, Maya Cadieux-Rouillard and Martin Cadieux-Rouillard.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Shayne on his directorial debut. His extensive experience behind the camera, alongside Nicole Field’s chilling screenplay and a talented cast of emerging talent, make The Wrath a fresh and unique project with incredible potential on the international market.” – Paul Cadieux, Producer, Filmoption International

“I have wanted to make a movie in Thailand for the past 25 years and felt this would be the perfect time to direct my first film. Nicole has written a fantastic script that takes audiences on a roller coaster of twists and turns, leading to an ultimate ending that no one will see coming. I cannot thank Paul and the team over at Filmoption enough for coming on board this film” - Shayne Putzlocher, Director/Producer

“Our casting director Gabrielle Smith-Almagor’s relentless search over the last few months to find the next generation of young talent will be such a contributor to the success of this film,” says Trilight Producer Jessica Watch.

The film is financed through Shayne Putzlocher and Andrea Hoffman’s newly created International Distribution Company Jaxter Media, Filmoption, Daniel Ford Beavis and Creative Saskatchewan.

Tatum Jennings is repped by Kendall Kramer at Zero Gravity Management.
